WHAT IS COACHING?
In essence, coaching is a collaborative partnership between you and a coach aimed at helping you realize your greatest potential. Through encouragement, exploration, and mobilization of your internal strengths, coaching supports you in identifying external resources and developing effective self-management strategies and goals.

Below, you'll find an audio recording from a conversation I had with a friend who wanted to understand more about coaching. This recording provides insights into what coaching involves, how it differs from working with psychologists or therapists, and various perspectives on the coaching process.

It’s important to clarify that while coaching often draws from positive psychology, it is not the same as positive thinking techniques. As a coach, I respect your personal beliefs and support your autonomy in choosing techniques that best enhance your life.

Coaches do not diagnose, interpret medical data, prescribe or de-prescribe medications, recommend supplements, create meal plans, provide exercise instructions, or offer psychological therapeutic interventions. Instead, a health and wellness coach provides guidance on lifestyle changes to manage or prevent chronic conditions, supports you in achieving self-directed goals, and aligns with any treatment plans from your healthcare team if applicable.

Additionally, I’ve included a table below that distinguishes the roles of a coach from other growth or healing professionals. I hope this table offers further clarity about the coach's role in the partnership.
